Subsequent Pregnancy Support
A subsequent pregnancy after the loss of a baby can bring forth many feelings ranging from anxiety, anger, sadness and fear to a sense of renewed hope, joy and excitement. It can be helpful to talk with a bereaved parent who has had a subsequent pregnancy. The Heartstrings subsequent pregnancy support program provides two avenues for support: one-to-one support and group support. If you are interested in one-to-one support and encouragement for families going through a subsequent pregnancy after the death of their baby, please call us at (336) 335-9931.
Heartstring's Subsequent Pregnancy Support group exists to aid and encourage mothers going through a subsequent pregnancy after a loss. While finding out about a new pregnancy can be an exciting time, it can also be a very trying and scary nine months for a mother who has experienced a previous miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. Our on-going support group meets on the first and third Mondays of each month, to share concerns and emotions brought about during the pregnancy. In a safe, casual environment, mothers can discuss the joys and fears of their pregnancies with other ladies experiencing the same things at the same times. We also have information sessions and craft nights once a quarter (during a regularly scheduled meeting time). Along with in-person meetings, we supplement our time by staying connected through a yahoo group.
